Youth Sailing Courses

If your child can fit in a buoyancy aid and is water confident then we have a course to get them on the water and to start their new sailing adventure!

Starting from under eight beginners to 15 year old beginners, all children are welcome to come and learn how to sail with WFYC.

Young people will be supported as they work through their RYA stages 1 to 4, then moving onto the advanced programme.

For those who have been sailing for a while, we offer the advanced modules of sailing with spinnakers, start racing and seamanship skills.

We run an exciting progressive programme for our young sailors. Those who are committed to sailing with us yearly and show passion for the sport will naturally progress to be trained as assistant instructors at the club. We offer subsidised instructor courses for these selected and committed few.

We have fleets of optimists, RS tera’s, picos and our latest addition RS fevas to train our young people in. As well as a dedicated, competent and enthusiastic youth sailing scheme team of instructors ready to deliver high class RYA training; many who have progressed from the training academy at the club themselves.

Use the RYA OnBoards to keep you sailing in between your courses. See below all courses available for cadets aged 8-16.
